Update on Debbie.......June 20, 2013......by Charlie

Just a brief update on Debbie to let you know she continues to progress with her home therapies and in her recovery from the aneurysm. Debbie has continued, however, to have problems with soft infectious kidney stones. She underwent surgery on the right kidney yesterday at Baptist Hospital in Nashville and is feeling great today. Dr. Dasari is planning on doing surgery on the other kidney early next week if her recovery continues. He gave us a very good report yesterday about the surgery. Your prayers work and we thank you for them. Have a great week. We love and appreciate each of you.

Update on Debbie....March 25, 2013.....by Charlie

When I last wrote, Debbie was in the middle of kidney stone removal procedures. Since then she has had a lithotripsy on her right kidney and last Friday a scope and laser treatment of that kidney. Her left kidney is clear and Dr Dasari is optimistic about the right. Another CT in three weeks. Overall, she has endured these sedations and procedures very well. I continue to be amazed at her attitude and stamina. Debbie's therapies are continuing with good results. Thank you all for your prayers. Our Lord has certainly been answering them.

Update on Debbie.......March 1, 2013......by Charlie

Sorry for being so long in updating Debbie's blog. Lots going on! Kidney stone issues continue and I delayed, hoping treatments would be over by now. Dr Dasari in Nashville has been treating Debbie and completed the removal, or crushing, of the stone in her left kidney with shock waves and laser. If she is recovered from her laser treatment performed last Wednesday, she will go next Wednesday, the 6th, for lithotripsy on the right kidney. She is sedated for these treatments and, with her other health conditions from the aneurysm, is slow to regain her original strength after each procedure. Otherwise, home therapies continue when possible, and Debbie continues to show progress and she still has that wonderful attitude and smile. She is certainly amazing, and such a blessing. She also is scheduled for an annual CT scan the 11th with her neurosurgeon. I'll give an update again after these procedures are completed. We thank you for continued prayer for her.

Update on Debbie.....January 25, 2013......by Charlie

Hello to all Debbie's blog followers and Happy New Year to each of you. Just a note to inform you of Debbie's progress. Her improvement from the aneurysm slowly continues but Deb has had a set-back with hospitalization from another bout with uti caused by the kidney stones that were not crushed as previously diagnosed when she had the shock treatment last September. With the onset of the infection Deb's blood pressure dropped dangerously low and she was admitted to Cumberland Medical Center on Wednesday, January 23. She is being given antibiotics with iv and is much better today and may be released as early as Monday if recovery continues. Dr Clark plans to refer her to my urologist in Nashville for further treatment as the necessary surgery cannot be performed at this hospital by Deb's local urologist. I will keep you informed of these actions as they occur. Many of you have told us of your continued prayers for Debbie and we thank you so much for them and each thought and word of encouragement. Deb's attitude is wonderful and she still has that beautiful SMILE. Today is our 20th wedding anniversary. Celebrating at a hospital in Crossville today is not quite the same as Hawaii 20 years ago, but Deb and I enjoyed it together and we are so blessed.

Update on Debbie.....December 16, 2012, by Charlie

Friends and family, as we near the end of 2011, I think of how far Debbie has progressed in her recovery journey since this time in 2010. On a day to day comparison I see little change, but when the days are added together her improvement in one year is amazing. She has been home almost a year now with home health care and therapy except for January, when she went to Shepherd Center in Atlanta for three weeks of in-patient rehab and nursing care. Deb has moved from hardly being able to sit up alone to walking with a cane or walker, riding her recumbent bike and using the elliptical. She needs someone by her side while completing these activities due to the right side paralysis but Debbie has great stamina and attitude and she maintains her beautiful smile which is shared with anyone with whom she comes in contact. Memory is still a problem but much better than a year ago. This past month has been good with no setbacks and Deb's visit to the urologist on December 11 went well with no signs of the presence of kidney stones. She continues with speech, physical and occupational therapy at home and her strength is good. All this can only be attributed to your prayers and God's grace and we thank you and praise Him. Debbie and I wish each of you a most wonderful Christmas and happy New Year and pray our Lord Jesus, whose birth we celebrate, blesses you as He has blessed us.

Update on Debbie......November 17, 2012.......by Charlie

Thanksgiving greetings to all Debbie's friends and family. Debbie continues to do well. She is still getting home health physical and speech therapy and received a good report from her urologist Nov. 9. No stones were visible in the x-ray and she will not be required to have another shock wave treatment at this time. Deb's appointment is Dec. 11 for the stint removal. She has had very little discomfort during these procedures. Our prayers have been answered once again. The memory problems and right side paralysis still exist but she is strong and her attitude is excellent. Thanks again for all your prayers, calls, cards, visits and concerns. We love and appreciate you and pray each of you has a wonderful blessed Thanksgiving. We all have so much to be thankful for. God bless you!

Debbie's blog updates......Oct. 25, 2012.....by Charlie

To all Debbie's friends and family following her blog. I have not posted the last couple of weeks and want you to know Debbie continues to do well. I will post an update monthly in the future beginning Nov.10 after her visit to the urologist. We appreciate so much your prayers, concerns and love for her and will give an immediate update should there be a change in Debbie's condition. She still loves to hear from you as do I. Happy Autumn!
