Debbie's Update.....May 26, 2012......by Charlie

An awesome and busy week starting with Debbie's music special last Sunday at our church homecoming service. As the choir and congregation sang the first two verses of "Amazing Grace", we helped Debbie get to her position on stage where she was given a microphone and sang the third verse solo....."through many dangers, toils and snares I have already come". What a blessing! Miracles do happen!!! Deb's parents visited with us Sunday and Monday, taking her shopping Monday while I made a quick round trip to Atlanta. She really enjoyed them and the shopping. Then Thursday brought Deb's birthday and dinner with friends. Friday was the 50th anniversary of my high school graduation and we attended the reunion in Lebanon. Debbie had met some of my classmates in the past and seemed to enjoy herself meeting new friends but after dinner became fatigued and we left early. I think that all the activities this week combined with her therapy was quite a test of her strength as was mine. So today, we decided to rest at home with a boat ride and a little fishing. A good Saturday except the fish were not "user friendly" this time. Thanks to each of you for your prayers and loving support. We wish you a great Memorial Day remembering the sacrifices made by our military men and women.

Update on Debbie.......May 19, 2012.....by Charlie

Debbie's week started with lunch on Mothers Day with her son, Brian and his family, followed by delivery of a dozen beautiful roses from her youngest son, Nathan and his family. A happy day for her. She has also had speech and occupational therapy, nails by Jenny, and hair by Sherry. Still taking baby steps in her progress, but slight improvement is much better than no improvement. Jenny also took Debbie to our church today to help the ladies in folding and packaging dresses for children in Honduras. She was there about two hours and when she returned commented that she didn't help much. I told her that I was sure she helped more than any of us could know. Things like this are wonderful therapy for Debbie and I am so thankful for caring Christian ladies who show their love and support. We wish each of you God's blessings this week.

Update on Debbie.....May 12, 2012.....by Charlie

Another good week for Debbie ending with a hair style and cut today. As we approach the one year anniversary of Debbie's aneurysm we realize how much our Lord has blessed us with her continued progress. And we continue to see and feel the power of prayer. I wish each of you moms a happy mothers day tomorrow. I know Debbie's two sons will have a great day getting to talk with their mother. Her oldest, Brian, is planning a visit and we look forward to it. Have a wonderful week.

Update on Debbie.....May 5, 2012......by Charlie

Debbie is watching television as I write this after a day starting with the salon, then to Kroger for her meds, after which she accompanied me to the marina for lake patrol this afternoon, and then home for dinner and fishing. She caught two small yellow perch and the big one got away just before dark....took the hook, broke the line and never stopped. Quite exciting! So after a day like this, she is ready for bed so I'll cut this short. She has had another good week and we pray the slow and steady improvements continue. She may not remember tomorrow what a day she has had today but the main thing is that she enjoys the present. We continue to give our thanks and praise to our Lord for his blessings and our wish is that each of you has a blessed week. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers.
